Hungary
Shopify development for Hungarian businesses
A loyalty scheme is a promise to hand over value later, and the points sitting in customer accounts are a liability your accountant will eventually ask about. Designing one is a commercial exercise before it is a technical one. We build Shopify stores for Hungarian businesses remotely.
What changes about Shopify Development in Hungary?
Points are easy to give away and hard to withdraw. Every one issued is a claim on a future order, and a scheme designed by looking at what competitors offer rather than at your own margin can quietly commit a meaningful share of it. The decisions that matter are all made before launch: what a point is worth when redeemed, whether points are earned on the tax and the delivery or only on the goods, whether they expire, and what happens to them when an order is refunded. That last one causes the most trouble in practice — a customer who returns an item keeps points earned on a purchase that no longer exists unless somebody decided otherwise. The store's job is to make the balance visible and correct, because a customer who believes they had more points than the account shows will say so publicly, and an argument about a balance is considerably more damaging than the value in dispute. What the accounting treatment should be is a question for your accountant rather than a setting.
What a Shopify Development project includes
Three things, and they do not change by country. What changes is the section above, which is the part worth reading before anybody agrees a scope for Hungary.
- Custom Online Store 2.0 theme or headless storefront
- App, payment and fulfilment integration
- Migration with a full URL redirect map
Cities we cover in Hungary
7 cities, each with its own page describing what commerce looks like there — what sells, who buys it and what makes selling there different — rather than repeating this one. All four services are delivered in every one of them, and we hold no office in any.
The rest of what we build in Hungary
Replatforming rarely arrives on its own. The interface decides whether the new store converts, and the automation decides how much manual work it leaves behind, so the other services in this market are usually the next question rather than a later one.
Shopify Development questions from Hungary
Three questions specific to Shopify Development in Hungary. The general ones — how we work, what it costs, who owns the code — are answered on the service page, and the ones about selling into this market generally are on the Europe page above.
Do you have an office in Hungary?
No. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and Hungarian clients work with us remotely. There is no Hungarian address behind this page. We put it in the opening paragraph rather than the footer, because that is where a reader forms the assumption and correcting it costs nothing.
What happens to points when an order is refunded?
Whatever you decided beforehand, which is the entire point of deciding beforehand. Left undefined, the customer keeps points earned on a purchase that no longer exists, and reversing that afterwards is an argument you will lose publicly and deserve to. The rule costs nothing to write and everything to retrofit.
Should points expire?
It limits the liability and it annoys exactly the customers a scheme exists to keep. Whether expiry is permitted, and on what notice, is a question for your adviser rather than a setting, and it should be decided before anybody has earned anything.
