WooCommerce development in Galway
For a Galway business running its own store, the interesting work is not the storefront. It is this: businesses serving a dispersed diaspora audience. That determines hosting, the plugin list and how much attention the store needs every month after launch. We build for Galway businesses remotely, and we hold no office there.

Businesses serving a dispersed diaspora audience
The infrastructure question is narrow: can the store build enough pages at once during its busiest hour.
Cached pages cost almost nothing, and the pages that cannot be cached are exactly the ones where a queue turns into an abandoned basket. Most of the Galway work we are asked about comes from heritage and craft brands selling abroad, frequently based around Ballybrit industrial estate. What those businesses have in common is that the requirement above is not optional for them, whatever else changes about the build. Ongoing ownership is the condition for the whole approach. A WooCommerce store rewards attention and punishes neglect faster than a hosted one, so the maintenance arrangement is part of the build decision rather than a question for later. The requirement is what justifies self-hosting at all. businesses serving a dispersed diaspora audience is the kind of thing a hosted platform will not do, and if it were not there we would be recommending Shopify to a Galway business rather than a server that somebody now has to look after.
We have no office in Galway. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.

WooCommerce development questions from Galway
Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.
Do you have an office in Galway?
No. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and Galway clients work with us remotely. We hold no Galway address and this page does not imply otherwise. It is stated at the top rather than buried, because that is where a reader forms the assumption and correcting it there costs us nothing.
Do you write custom code or install plugins?
Both, with a bias against installing. Every extension is a permanent dependency with its own update cycle and abandonment risk, so twenty lines we maintain frequently beats a plugin with two hundred settings. Where a well-maintained extension does the job properly, we use it and say so. The same goes for Galway.
How much maintenance does this need?
More than a hosted platform and less than people fear. Updates on a schedule, backups tested by actually restoring one, and somebody named who is called when something breaks. A Galway store with that arrangement is inexpensive to run; one without it is the expensive option regardless of the hosting bill.
