WooCommerce development in Sliema
WooCommerce gives a Sliema business control and hands it the maintenance with it. The requirement that matters most here is a specific one: testing in a normal browser, which tests it for the minority of this traffic, and it is the part that has to be designed rather than configured.

Testing in a normal browser, which tests it for the minority of this traffic
The infrastructure question is narrow: can the store build enough pages at once during its busiest hour.
Cached pages cost almost nothing, and the pages that cannot be cached are exactly the ones where a queue turns into an abandoned basket. Most of the Sliema work we are asked about comes from businesses selling to mobile-first audiences, frequently based around Sliema seafront commercial strip. What those businesses have in common is that the requirement above is not optional for them, whatever else changes about the build. The part to settle before launch is who maintains it. Self-hosting moves the responsibility to you, and the businesses that struggle with it are not the ones that chose the wrong plugins but the ones that never budgeted for anybody to look after the result. What makes this worth the maintenance is the requirement itself. testing in a normal browser, which tests it for the minority of this traffic cannot be configured away on a hosted platform, and a Sliema business taking on a server for any lesser reason has bought a responsibility that it did not actually need to own.
We have no office in Sliema. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.
What a WooCommerce development project includes
Three things, and they are the same wherever you are. What changes is the subject above.
Custom themes and versioned business-logic plugins
Hosting architecture, caching and speed work
Migration, hardening and a named update policy
The other three, and what each one covers
Each answers a different question for Sliema businesses. None of them repeats this page.
AI Automation
Businesses selling to mobile-first audiences
Shopify Development
A browser with nothing saved, where the customer usual conveniences are all absent
UI/UX Design
Retailers with traffic from social platforms
WooCommerce development questions from Sliema
Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.
How do updates get tested?
On a copy first, never on the live store. Changes go to staging, get looked at by somebody who did not write them, and are released at a time when a Sliema business is not taking its busiest orders. That sequence is dull and it is why nothing goes wrong on a Friday afternoon.
Do you write custom code or install plugins?
Both, with a bias against installing. Every extension is a permanent dependency with its own update cycle and abandonment risk, so twenty lines we maintain frequently beats a plugin with two hundred settings. Where a well-maintained extension does the job properly, we use it and say so. That holds for Sliema work as much as for anywhere we deliver.
Why WooCommerce rather than Shopify?
Control, and the specific requirement described above. If a business needs something a hosted platform will not do, self-hosting is the honest answer; if it does not, WooCommerce is more responsibility for no benefit. We have talked Sliema clients out of it more than once.
