AI automation in New York

Every image needs a description for anybody who cannot see it, and on a catalogue of any size nobody is going to write them all. That is the gap automation fills honestly, provided somebody decides what a good description actually is.

Alt text for a catalogue nobody will write by hand

Alt text is not a caption and it is not a keyword list.

It describes what the image conveys to somebody who cannot see it, which for a product photograph usually means the product, its material or colour, and anything visible that the description does not already say. Generating it at scale works because the task is mechanical and the volume is impossible by hand — a catalogue with forty thousand images has never had descriptions written and never will. What generation does badly is knowing when an image says nothing: a decorative background or a repeated brand mark should be marked as decorative rather than described, and a system that describes everything produces a page that is exhausting to listen to. Two rules make the output useful. Do not repeat the product name that is already announced immediately before the image, because a screen reader user hears it twice. And review a sample rather than trusting the volume, since a confident wrong description of a product is worse for the person relying on it than none at all.

We have no office in New York. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.

What an AI automation project includes

Three things, and they are the same wherever you are. What changes is the subject above.

  • Product content drafting from real spec data

  • Inventory sync and order routing between systems

  • Retrieval-based support assistants over your own policies

The other three, and what each one covers

Each answers a different question for New York businesses. None of them repeats this page.

AI automation questions from New York

Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.

Is generated alt text acceptable?

For a large catalogue it is the only realistic option, and it is far better than the empty attributes those images have now. What makes it acceptable is reviewing a sample and fixing the pattern, rather than generating forty thousand descriptions and assuming they are right.

What should not be described?

Anything decorative. A background texture or a repeated brand mark should be marked as decorative so that it is skipped entirely, because describing every image produces a page that is exhausting to listen to and buries the handful that actually carried some information.

What is the most common mistake?

Repeating the product name. The heading immediately before the image has already said it, so a description beginning with the same words means a screen reader user hears it twice and learns nothing new from an element that was supposed to add something.
