UI/UX design in Brighton

The gap on most Brighton stores is not aesthetic. It is that the page never answers the thing the customer came to establish: independent retailers with a strong local identity, which is why traffic arrives, reads and leaves without anybody being able to say what went wrong.

A drawing of a design system for a Brighton store being measured: type sizes, colour tokens, component states and a contrast reading above the WCAG 2.2 AA threshold.

The subjectui-ux-design × brighton

Independent retailers with a strong local identity

The question gets answered with facts placed where the doubt occurs.

Moving the relevant detail next to the moment somebody hesitates is worth more than adding it to a policy page that a small fraction of visitors will ever open. Around New England Quarter and across Brighton more widely, independent retail sets what a store has to handle. Being event and music businesses selling tickets alongside merchandise rather than a general retailer is what turns the requirement above from a nice-to-have into the thing the build is arranged around. None of this is a separate accessibility exercise. A page that is legible in daylight, operable with a keyboard and readable in an order that makes sense is simply a page that works, and treating that as an extra stage is how it never happens. What we would measure afterwards is whether that doubt still shows up in support messages. independent retailers with a strong local identity is the question behind most of them, and a page that answers it properly reduces the volume of those messages rather than merely improving how the page feels to read.

We have no office in Brighton. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.

What a UI/UX design project includes

Three things, and they are the same wherever you are. What changes is the subject above.

  • UX audit against a published checklist

  • Redesign of the highest-revenue templates

  • Design system and tokens, where they earn their cost

The other three, and what each one covers

Each answers a different question for Brighton businesses. None of them repeats this page.

  • AI Automation

Design-led brands selling their own products

  • Shopify Development

Clients who already run a store, know what is broken, and want to self-serve on content afterwards

  • WooCommerce Development

Independent retailers who need a distinct identity rather than a configured theme

UI/UX design questions from Brighton

Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.

How do you know a change is an improvement?

By measuring it where the volume supports measurement, and by reasoning honestly where it does not. Small stores rarely have the traffic for a reliable test, and pretending otherwise produces confident conclusions from noise. In that case the argument has to stand on its own merits. The same goes for Brighton.

Do you redesign or start from scratch?

Usually neither at first. The useful first step is establishing what is actually going wrong, which is frequently narrower than a redesign and considerably cheaper. A Brighton store losing customers at one step does not need a new visual identity; it needs that step fixed.

Is accessibility included?

Yes, and not as a separate stage. Visible focus, real labels, adequate contrast and a keyboard route through the whole flow are part of the design rather than an audit afterwards. Retrofitting them costs more and produces a worse result than deciding them while the page is being drawn. That holds for Brighton work as much as for anywhere we deliver.
