UI/UX design in Glasgow
For anybody avoiding an ingredient, what a product contains is not extra detail — it is the only question. A store that hides it in a paragraph, or in a photograph of a label, has told that customer to buy somewhere else.

Ingredient information is usually published as an image of the packaging, which fails several readers at once: anybody using a screen reader, anybody who needs to enlarge it, and anybody searching the page for a word.
Publishing it as text solves all three and costs nothing beyond the typing. The second problem is findability. A customer avoiding one thing does not want to read a list; they want to know whether this product is safe for them, which argues for the information being scannable and consistent between products rather than written differently by whoever added each item. Consistency also makes the catalogue filterable later, which is where the real value sits: a customer who can narrow the range to what they can eat is a customer who can shop at all. What we would not do is let the store make a claim it cannot support. What must be stated, and how, is a question for your adviser and your supplier — the store's part is displaying it accurately and never letting it fall out of step with the product.
We have no office in Glasgow. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.

UI/UX design questions from Glasgow
Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.
Why is a photograph of the label not enough?
Because it fails a screen reader, it fails anybody who needs to enlarge it, and it cannot be searched or filtered. The same information as text works for everybody and costs only the typing, which is a small price for being usable by the customers who care most about it.
What is the most useful thing to build?
Consistent, structured information across the whole catalogue, because that is what makes filtering possible later. A customer who can narrow the range to what they are able to eat can shop at all, and one who has to open forty products to check will not stay long enough to try.
Can you advise on what must be declared?
No. That belongs with your adviser and your suppliers, and the requirements depend on the product and where you sell it. Our part is making sure whatever must be shown is displayed accurately, is reachable by everybody, and cannot drift out of step with what is in the box.
