AI automation in London

Recommendations are the automation everybody asks for and the one most often installed without a test. On a large catalogue with a lot of behaviour behind it they earn their place. On a small one they produce confident suggestions from almost no evidence.

The subjectai-automation × london

AI automation for London ecommerce

A recommendation engine learns from what customers did, which means its quality is set by how much of that you have.

A store with thousands of products and years of orders has enough signal for a model to find pairs a merchandiser would not have thought of. A store with two hundred products and a few thousand orders does not, and what it gets instead is the same few best-sellers recommended everywhere, which is worse than a hand-picked list because it looks automated and adds nothing. The honest version of this work starts by asking what the recommendation is for. Increasing basket size wants complements, so the thing that goes with what somebody is holding. Rescuing a visitor from a dead end wants alternatives, which is the opposite. A single block doing both does neither. The other rule we apply is that anything recommended must be in stock and currently sellable, because a suggestion the customer cannot act on converts a helpful moment into a small, avoidable disappointment.

We have no office in London. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.

What an AI automation project includes

Three things, and they are the same wherever you are. What changes is the subject above.

  • Product content drafting from real spec data

  • Inventory sync and order routing between systems

  • Retrieval-based support assistants over your own policies

The other three, and what each one covers

Each answers a different question for London businesses. None of them repeats this page.

AI automation questions from London

Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.

When are recommendations not worth building?

When the catalogue is small and the order history is thin. There is not enough signal for a model to find anything a person could not, so it repeats the best-sellers on every page. A hand-picked list from somebody who knows the range beats it comfortably and takes an afternoon.

Should one block do complements and alternatives?

No, because they answer opposite questions. Complements raise basket size for somebody who has already chosen; alternatives rescue somebody who has not. A single block trying to do both produces suggestions that are wrong for whichever visitor is reading it at the time.

What should never be recommended?

Anything out of stock or not currently sellable. A suggestion the customer cannot act on turns a helpful moment into an avoidable disappointment, and it is the most common fault we find when reviewing a recommendation block that somebody installed and then stopped looking at.
