Ecommerce website development for Estonian businesses
Ecommerce development for Estonian businesses can assume a level of digital identity infrastructure that almost nowhere else offers. Customers here authenticate with a national electronic identity or a mobile equivalent, which changes what a login and a signature can be. We build remotely from Rajkot and hold no Estonian office.
How do you work with Estonian clients?
We hold no Estonian office.
Work runs from our studio in Rajkot on a shared board you can open at any time, with decisions written down the day they are made and scope changes priced in writing before they are built. What is specific to Estonia is that identity is solved in a way most markets have not managed. National electronic identity and mobile authentication are ordinary here, which means a store can verify who a customer actually is rather than trusting an email address, and can take a legally meaningful signature without paper. That opens options a store elsewhere cannot have — genuine age or professional verification, contracts signed at checkout, business customers identified rather than self-declared. It also raises the question of restraint: verifying identity means holding an identifier, and the right answer is frequently to confirm and discard rather than store. We build for the minimum that the transaction needs. Invoicing is in euro. Contracts are governed by the laws of India, stated plainly in our terms and worth raising with your adviser before signing.
What we build
Four services, delivered the same way wherever you are: Shopify stores, WooCommerce stores, the interface design that decides whether either converts, and the automation that removes manual work from running them.
- Shopify in Europe
Shopify Development
Shopify development is the work of building a store on Shopify that does what your business needs rather than what a theme allows.
- WooCommerce in Europe
WooCommerce Development
WooCommerce development is the work of building a store on WordPress and WooCommerce, where you host the software and own the database outright.
- UI/UX in Europe
UI/UX Design
Ecommerce UI/UX design is the work of deciding how a store looks and how customers move through it, from landing page to completed order.
- AI in Europe
AI Automation
AI automation for ecommerce means using language models and workflow tools to remove repetitive work from running a store.
Which platforms dominate in Estonia?
Our observation, not sourced data
What we see in the Estonian market, stated as our observation rather than as sourced data: WooCommerce and Shopify both appear, and the market is small enough that the interesting projects are frequently business-to-business or cross-border rather than domestic retail. The pattern worth naming is that authentication and parcel machine integration are the two pieces of local work that come up in almost every project, and neither is available out of the box on an international platform.
What does a Estonian store actually have to handle?
Every layer below is something a store selling in Estonia has to get right, and most of them are decided before a line of code is written. Thresholds and rates are deliberately not quoted here — they change, and the primary sources are linked further down.
| Layer | What Estonian stores usually need |
|---|---|
| Currency | Euro, with prices shown inclusive of VAT to consumers |
| Payment methods | Bank links and cards, with mobile payment options alongside |
| Identity | National electronic identity and mobile authentication are ordinary, not exotic |
| Collection | Parcel machines are the default delivery choice for most orders |
| Shipping carriers | Omniva, DPD, Itella; dense parcel machine networks |
| Market size | A small domestic base, so cross-border and business selling matter early |
| Data protection | GDPR, supervised by the Data Protection Inspectorate |
| Consumer rights | A fourteen-day withdrawal right on most distance sales |
Cities we cover in Estonia
Each city page describes what commerce actually looks like there rather than repeating this one. If your city is not listed, the service is identical — we simply have not written a page worth publishing about it yet.
Data and consumer rules
Primary sources
An Estonian store meets the two standard EU regimes with one addition that cuts both ways. Data protection runs through GDPR, supervised by the Data Protection Inspectorate, governing what you collect, why, how long you keep it and what a customer can require you to erase. Consumer law gives a fourteen-day withdrawal right on most distance sales, stated before purchase. The addition is identity: because strong authentication is available, it is easy to collect a national identifier that you have no need to keep, and a store holding identifiers it never uses has taken on risk for nothing. The right pattern is to verify and discard wherever the transaction allows. We build for that rather than for the maximum the infrastructure would permit. Which obligations apply to your business is a question for your own adviser, and nothing here is legal advice.
Nothing on this page is legal or tax advice.
Where Estonian businesses sell next
These are the markets clients in Estonia most often ask about once the first store is trading. Each has its own payment habits, carriers and regulator, and a store built for one does not automatically work in the next. Every other market we cover is listed underneath.

Estonian questions we are asked
5 questions specific to working with us from Estonia, including the one most agencies avoid: whether anybody at this studio is actually in the country.
Do you have an Estonian office?
No. We work from Rajkot, India, and this page says so rather than implying a Tallinn address. You get a named contact who stays with the account, a shared board you can open at any time, and replies within one business day. If somebody physically present is a requirement, we do not meet it.
Should we use national identity for customer login?
Only where the transaction genuinely needs verified identity, such as restricted goods or business accounts. For ordinary retail it is more verification than the purchase requires and it obliges you to handle an identifier you did not need. Email and a password remain the proportionate choice for most catalogues.
Can a customer sign a contract at checkout?
The infrastructure supports a legally meaningful electronic signature, which is genuinely useful for subscriptions, credit terms and business agreements. Whether a given document needs one is a question for your counsel rather than for us. What we build is the flow that captures it and stores the evidence properly.
How important are parcel machines?
They are the default rather than a cheaper alternative, so a store offering only courier delivery is offering the less convenient option. Supporting them properly means a machine selector inside the checkout with live availability, not a field where the customer types a location and hopes.
Is the domestic market big enough to build for?
For many products, no, and that is worth saying plainly at the quote. Estonian projects that do well are usually selling to the wider Baltic and Nordic region or to business customers. We would rather scope for that from the start than build a domestic store that hits its ceiling in a year.
