Lithuania
Ecommerce website development for Lithuanian businesses
Ecommerce development for Lithuanian businesses frequently starts from an unusual advantage: this is a European hub for payment and financial technology, so local expectations about checkout speed and reliability are higher than the market size would suggest. We build remotely from Rajkot and hold no Lithuanian office.
How do you work with Lithuanian clients?
We hold no Lithuanian office.
Work runs from our studio in Rajkot on a shared board you can open at any time, with decisions written down the day they are made and scope changes priced in writing before they are built. What is specific to Lithuania is that the payment layer is unusually sophisticated for a market of this size, because a large financial technology sector is based here. In practice that means clients arrive with clearer expectations about checkout behaviour than we see elsewhere, and frequently with an existing relationship with a payment provider that the build has to fit around rather than choose. It also means the interesting work is often not a shop at all — subscription billing, marketplaces, business-to-business ordering — and scoping that honestly matters more than picking a platform. On the fulfilment side, parcel lockers are the default here as across the Baltics, so the selector belongs inside the checkout. Invoicing is in euro. Contracts are governed by the laws of India, stated plainly in our terms and worth raising with your adviser before signing.
What we build
Four services, delivered the same way wherever you are: Shopify stores, WooCommerce stores, the interface design that decides whether either converts, and the automation that removes manual work from running them.
- Shopify in Europe
Shopify Development
Shopify development is the work of building a store on Shopify that does what your business needs rather than what a theme allows.
- WooCommerce in Europe
WooCommerce Development
WooCommerce development is the work of building a store on WordPress and WooCommerce, where you host the software and own the database outright.
- UI/UX in Europe
UI/UX Design
Ecommerce UI/UX design is the work of deciding how a store looks and how customers move through it, from landing page to completed order.
- AI in Europe
AI Automation
AI automation for ecommerce means using language models and workflow tools to remove repetitive work from running a store.
Which platforms dominate in Lithuania?
Our observation, not sourced data
What we see in the Lithuanian market, stated as our observation rather than as sourced data: WooCommerce is common among smaller merchants, Shopify appears among newer brands, and there is more custom and headless work here than in comparable markets because of the local engineering base. The pattern worth naming is that we are more often asked to integrate with something the client already runs than to build a store from scratch, which changes the shape of the quote.
What does a Lithuanian store actually have to handle?
Every layer below is something a store selling in Lithuania has to get right, and most of them are decided before a line of code is written. Thresholds and rates are deliberately not quoted here — they change, and the primary sources are linked further down.
| Layer | What Lithuanian stores usually need |
|---|---|
| Currency | Euro, with prices shown inclusive of VAT to consumers |
| Payment methods | Bank links and cards, with a strong local payment provider sector |
| Payment expectations | A large financial technology base means higher expectations of checkout reliability |
| Collection | Parcel lockers are the default delivery choice for most orders |
| Shipping carriers | Lietuvos pastas, Omniva, DPD, Venipak; dense locker networks |
| Tax handling | Lithuanian VAT, with one-stop-shop reporting for EU distance sales |
| Data protection | GDPR, supervised by the State Data Protection Inspectorate |
| Consumer rights | A fourteen-day withdrawal right on most distance sales |
Cities we cover in Lithuania
Each city page describes what commerce actually looks like there rather than repeating this one. If your city is not listed, the service is identical — we simply have not written a page worth publishing about it yet.
A Lithuanian store meets the two standard EU regimes, supervised domestically. Data protection runs through GDPR with the State Data Protection Inspectorate as the national authority, governing what you collect, why, how long you keep it and what a customer can require you to erase. Consumer law gives a fourteen-day withdrawal right on most distance sales, stated before purchase rather than only in a policy page. Where a project involves recurring billing or stored payment credentials — which is more common here than elsewhere given the local sector — the obligations extend into how those credentials are handled and how a customer cancels, and the payment provider agreement matters as much as the storefront. We keep card data out of the store entirely and make cancellation as short as sign-up. Which obligations apply to your business is a question for your own adviser, and nothing here is legal advice.
Nothing on this page is legal or tax advice.
Where Lithuanian businesses sell next
These are the markets clients in Lithuania most often ask about once the first store is trading. Each has its own payment habits, carriers and regulator, and a store built for one does not automatically work in the next. Every other market we cover is listed underneath.

Lithuanian questions we are asked
5 questions specific to working with us from Lithuania, including the one most agencies avoid: whether anybody at this studio is actually in the country.
Do you have a Lithuanian office?
No. We work from Rajkot, India, and this page says so rather than implying a Vilnius address. You get a named contact who stays with the account, a shared board you can open at any time, and replies within one business day. If somebody physically present is a requirement, we do not meet it.
We already have a payment provider. Does that constrain the build?
It shapes it rather than constrains it, and knowing early matters. Provider capabilities differ on recurring billing, saved credentials and refunds, and those differences decide what the checkout can offer. We would rather design around your existing relationship than assume a default and rework it.
Do you build subscription billing?
Yes, and we treat the unglamorous parts as the important ones: renewal reminders before the charge, cancellation as short as sign-up, and recovery of failed cards without harassing the customer. Most subscription churn is an expired card rather than a decision to leave, and that is where the value sits.
Are parcel lockers essential here?
They are the default rather than the budget option, as across the Baltics. Supporting them means a locker selector inside the checkout with live availability rather than a text field. Network coverage differs by carrier, so which you support is a coverage decision as much as a price one.
Is Lithuanian content necessary?
For a Lithuanian consumer audience, yes, and translated copy reads as translated. English works for business and international selling. We build the structure to carry Lithuanian properly, including URLs and metadata rather than only visible text, and the words come from you or a translator you trust.
